Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

About the Project

What is Kids & Sparks ?

Kids & Sparks is a philanthropic initiative offering photography and sports workshops to disadvantaged children in schools. Through simple cameras, guided activities, and engaging physical sessions, children learn to express themselves, tell their stories, build confidence, and strengthen their wellbeing.

What is the goal of the project?

Our mission is to empower children by giving them a voice, nurturing their creativity, supporting their physical development, and creating opportunities for their achievements — artistic or athletic — to be recognized both locally and internationally.

For Schools & Teachers

How can a school participate?

Schools can contact us by email, we select partner schools based on need, motivation, and the availability of teaching staff to support the workshops.

Which workshop formats are available?

Schools can choose the format that best fits their needs: a Photography Workshop, a Sport Workshop, or both.
If both workshops are selected, the Sport Workshop is usually held before the Photography Workshop, allowin
g children to build confidence, energy, and team spirit ahead of their creative session.

Does it cost anything for the school?

No. Participation is free for the children and for the school. All equipment, training, and workshop materials are provided through our sponsors and donors.

How are the workshops organized?

Workshops are structured over one or two days and include a mix of sports, creative learning, and hands-on photography. For full details, please visit our Workshops page.

What equipment do the children need?

Children don’t need to bring any equipment. We provide all the necessary cameras, sports gear, and creative materials for the workshops.

For Children & Parents

Is it safe for children to participate?

Yes. All activities are supervised by teachers and verified volunteers. We follow strict safety and privacy guidelines to protect every child. Sport Spark sessions follow age-appropriate rules and injury-prevention guidelines.

Who leads the workshops?

Workshops are led by trained volunteers, local teachers, and professional or semi-professional photographers from our international network. Sport sessions can be led by physical education teachers, trained volunteers, or athletes collaborating with the project.

What do children learn during the program?

Children develop:

  • Camera skills: how to use a camera and basic editing software

  • Visual storytelling: how to observe, frame, and tell a story

  • Creativity & self-expression

  • Teamwork through collaborative activities

  • Physical skills: coordination, movement, and resilience

  • Confidence by showcasing their work and achievements

What happens to the photos?

Every child keeps a digital copy of their work. Selected images are showcased in exhibitions (local, international, and online), always with the school’s approval.

Are children’s images published online?

Yes — but only with parental and school consent. Privacy and dignity are absolute priorities.

Are any sports achievements highlighted?

Yes — schools may choose to celebrate children’s efforts with certificates, fun rankings, or participation medals. No performance pressure is applied.

How can a company or foundation support the project?
