Originally from northern France, Emmanuelle Savary first entered the world of photography as a model at the age of 20. Through numerous collaborations with European photographers, she quickly absorbed the art of staging, lighting, and visual enhancement, gradually shaping her own artistic identity. It was during these years that she discovered how deeply photography can influence self-confidence and personal expression.

After more than ten years in front of the camera, her experiences naturally sparked a growing curiosity for the backstage world of photo shoots. She became the assistant of an artistic photographer in Strasbourg, where her role was to help models feel at ease so they could freely express their personalities, their strengths, and even their shadows.

Following this enriching collaboration, Emmanuelle decided to settle in the Tarn (France), a region where she developed a sincere friendship with Véronique Guillon Costes, a sculptor she met during an artist residency.

This human and artistic connection encouraged Emmanuelle to pick up the camera herself and begin creating her own work, blending the art of staging with the raw expression of human emotion. She chooses amateur models to preserve the purity and authenticity of their presence. Breaking through protective layers, revealing wounds, and bringing out the best in each individual are at the heart of what she aims to capture.

For Emmanuelle, black and white is the most truthful way to transmit emotion. Through contrasts, she explores opposites, light and darkness, joy and sadness, positive and negative and by softening them, she uncovers nuance and balance.
